This race is organised by the Hastings Runners and its worth noting that in PICTURE 16 is Jean and Reg Wild with Hastings Mayor Maureen Charlesworth. Reg Wild, 71, has been president of the Hastings Athletic Club for 30 years and has raised thousands and thousands of pounds for cancer charities and the like. He was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma (a form of cancer) two years ago. Hastings and Rother Primary Care Trust would not pay for his treatment because the drug combination is not yet licensed for his cancer and he has been denied funding for a trial cancer drug which could save his life.
